The Music Ministry of First Calvary Baptist Church holds a unique and important role of leading our congregation into the presence of God through worship and song. God has instructed us to lift our voices in praise to Him, to praise Him with the sound of the trumpet, the harp and the lyre. Jesus said that if we do not praise Him, the rocks will cry out. Because we want to be all that God has intended us to be, we will strive to provide the finest musical training for all ages and equip our choirs, ensembles and instrumentalists to be effective worship leaders to the glory of our Lord and Savior. The greatest desire of the FCBC Music Ministry is to help others worship more fully through music and to enhance their worship experience each time we’re together as a family.


Celebration Choir
The Celebration Choir leads our congregation in worship and song each Sunday morning during the traditional worship service. In addition, the choir presents many seasonal productions and special concerts including Easter, Christmas and Patriotic services. The choir also frequently participates in community choral activities with other church choirs in the area. The Celebration Choir is open to all adults, college age, and 10th through 12th grade students. Rehearsal time for this group is every Wednesday night (7:50 PM until 9:15 PM). Mr. Clay Young leads the Worship Choir. If you love to sing and praise God with friends, you are invited to come and experience worship both in rehearsal times and in our worship services. Children's Choir
The Children’s Choir uses child-centered and age-appropriate literature to teach the children Biblical principles and musical concepts. The choir periodically sings during the morning or evening worship service and gives seasonal performances throughout the year. The Choir members range in age from pre-school to grade six. The choir rehearses on Sunday (6:00 until 7:00 PM).

Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir performs on special occasions throughout the year and is led by Mrs. Savilla Miller. Rehearsal time varies.

FCBC Vocal Ensemble
The FCBC vocal ensemble includes 3 women and 2 men who lead our congregation in worship on selected and special occasions through traditional songs and contemporary praise and worship courses.

FCBC Gospel Quartet
The FCBC gospel quartet includes 4 men who lead our congregation in worship on selected and special occasions.

Praise Band
The praise band is the newest addition to First Calvary’s music ministry. The music is upbeat and energetic. We are blessed to have volunteer musicians from First Calvary’s membership to lead us into worship during our contemporary worship service. Marty Amick is the praise band's leader; also he is a guitarist and lead vocalist. Andrew Morgan is the lead guitarist. Jan Waters is our drummer along with Robert Popenhagen on bass guitar. Glenda Amick and Carol Crout are the background vocalist.
